Dispute resolution

For times when disagreements get out of hand

We help people reach an end to disputes over all manner of things

Common examples are:

  • Consumer claims
  • Boundary disputes
  • Contract claims
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Disputes about who was to blame for an accident and how much compensation the injured party should receive
  • Landlord and tenant disputes and claims by landlords for possession.
  • Someone owes money

Dispute resolution can involve the commencement of court proceedings. Court proceedings are expensive. There is a link to a separate note about the cost of court proceedings - and we will encourage you to consider:

  • That cost, and how it can be met
  • The risk of an adverse outcome
  • The analysis of benefit against risk
  • The alternatives to court proceedings

The principal alternative to court proceedings is mediation - a process where the parties to the dispute are encouraged to settle their differences by give and take. The process can be undertaken informally - commonly between the parties' solicitors either in correspondence or at a round table meeting - all with the addition to the process of a professional mediator.

What matters to us is that you should take informed decisions after sensible and clear advice.

If you have a problem and you think we may be able to help then please call. We do not charge for an initial interview.
